How this tool works

Google Contacts exports CSV in a multi-value-per-contact format with numbered suffixes (Phone 1, Phone 2, E-mail 1…) and a Group Membership column that uses Google Contacts-specific syntax. Importing this directly into Outlook or Apple Contacts produces malformed contacts because those systems expect different column names (Full Name, Home Phone, Work Email). This fixer: merges Given Name + Family Name into Full Name, maps Google's Phone N - Value columns to standard Phone/Mobile/Work Phone columns, strips the Group Membership and Labels metadata, and outputs an Outlook-compatible or Apple Contacts-compatible format. Exporting Google Contacts produces sprawling CSV files containing over 30 sparse columns (such as "E-mail 1 - Value", "Phone 1 - Type", and multiple address fields). When migrating contacts into Apple Contacts, Outlook, or modern CRMs, these redundant sparse columns cause import errors. DataFix consolidates fragmented contact fields into unified name, email, phone, and address columns, stripping unused metadata and outputting a pristine contact list ready for seamless migration. Google Contacts exports feature dozens of sparse, fragmented columns with duplicate phone and email headers. Consolidating fragmented fields into standardized contact attributes produces a clean, unified file ready for import into modern CRMs.

Things that usually go wrong

  • Google Contacts exports up to 3 email and 3 phone columns per contact — this tool takes the first non-empty value for each.
  • Custom fields are preserved as-is.

Edge cases we tested

Additional phones added as Mobile Phone 2, Work Phone, etc., based on their type label.

🧪 Contact with no email address

Email column left blank; contact still exported.

🧪 Name with prefix (Dr., Prof.)

Name Prefix prepended to Full Name: 'Dr. Grace Kerubo'.
