Detect statistical outliers in numeric CSV columns using IQR or Z-score
Identify statistical outliers in numeric columns using IQR or Z-score threshold methods.

How this tool works
Things that usually go wrong
- Small datasets (< 30 rows) produce unreliable Z-scores — use IQR for small samples.
- The column must contain only numbers. Remove currency symbols and commas first.
Edge cases we tested
IQR = 0; all values are technically not outliers; reported with warning.
IQR method handles negative ranges correctly; sign not treated as anomaly.
Parsed as 120000.0 before statistical computation.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the IQR method?
Values below Q1 - 1.5×IQR or above Q3 + 1.5×IQR are flagged as outliers. This is the standard Tukey fence.
What is the Z-score threshold?
By default, values with |Z| > 3 are flagged. You can adjust the threshold.
