How this tool works
Things that usually go wrong
- Duplicate key+pivot combinations produce multiple values for one cell — aggregation (sum, first) must be specified.
- Many unique pivot values produce very wide output.
Edge cases we tested
Aggregated using the selected function (sum by default); count also available.
Header value is quoted in the output CSV.
Creates 100+ output columns; user warned that wide tables may be unwieldy.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a pivot?
A pivot transforms a long-format table (one row per observation) into a wide-format table (one row per entity, one column per attribute).
How do I handle duplicate values?
Include the aggregation in your instruction — e.g. "Pivot by region and product, summing sales" or "count by category". Supported operations: sum, average, first, last, count, and concatenate.
