Extract

Pull every number out of any block of text

Extract all numbers — integers, decimals, and formatted amounts — from any block of text.

🛡️ Your rows never leave your browser.
Why Onfyt: Explicitly supports both 1,200.50 (US/UK) and 1.200,50 (European) number formats via a simple option in the instruction.

How this tool works

Numbers appear in PDFs, invoices, reports, and web pages mixed with prose that makes programmatic extraction difficult. An audit report might list "a budget of KES 1,200,000 with a 3.75% variance and 42 items flagged". Pulling those three numbers reliably without a script requires a dedicated tool. This extractor matches: - Plain integers: 42, 1000 - Comma-formatted thousands separators (US/UK format): 1,200,000 - Period-formatted thousands separators (European format): 1.200.000 - Decimal numbers with period: 3.75 - Decimal numbers with comma (European): 3,75 - Negative numbers: -42, -1,200.50 Controls on this page: - Paste your text and type your instruction — "extract all numbers" — and click Run. - Add "integers only" to skip decimals. - Add "European format" to instruct the engine to interpret commas as decimal separators instead of thousand separators. - Add "with currency symbol" to preserve the preceding currency symbol alongside each number. All extraction runs inside your browser tab — no server involved.

Things that usually go wrong

  • If the text mixes US and European number formats in the same block, specify one format explicitly in your instruction.
  • IP addresses (192.168.1.1) will be extracted as four separate integers by default — add 'skip IP addresses' to exclude them.
  • Dates like '2024-01-15' will be extracted as three integers (2024, 01, 15) unless you add 'skip dates'.

Edge cases we tested

🧪 European decimal format (1.200,50 meaning 1200.50)

Correctly interpreted when 'European format' or 'comma as decimal' is specified in the instruction.

🧪 Negative number inside parentheses — accounting style (1,200.00)

Extracted as -1200.00 when 'accounting parentheses' is noted in the instruction.

🧪 Year embedded in prose ('in 2024 we sold')

Matched as a plain integer (2024) — no special year-exclusion by default.

🧪 Phone number (0712 345 678)

Extracted as a sequence of digit tokens; use 'Extract Phone Numbers' for structured phone output.

🧪 Text containing no numbers

Returns empty result with 'No numbers found.' message.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I extract numbers and keep the surrounding currency label?

Yes — add 'with currency symbol' to your instruction and the engine prepends the immediately preceding symbol (KES, $, €) to each number.

Will it handle numbers in table cells inside a pasted HTML block?

Yes. HTML tags are stripped first, leaving plain text from which numbers are extracted.

What if I only want numbers greater than 1000?

Add 'greater than 1000 only' to your instruction and the engine filters the result set.

Can I get the numbers as a comma-separated list instead of one per line?

Add 'comma-separated' to your instruction — the output format changes accordingly.
